Public Defender, San Bernardino County of San Bernardino
172 West 3rd St.
Dear Phyllis:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the California Public Defenders Association (CPDA), we extend our congratulations for and appreciation of your Office’s work in creating the “Removing Every Barrier and Rehabilitating” (REBAR) Program. We believe that this unique multifaceted and client-orientated program effectively addresses many of the problems that plague our clients when they try to successfully reintegrate into the community. We are particularly impressed with the way members of your office meet with clients at the Probation Department and in outreach events in the community. We are therefore pleased to inform you that this program has received the CPDA Program of the Year Award.
The award will be presented at the luncheon on Friday, May 1, 2015, at the Oakland Marriott Civic Center, located at 1001 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94607. We hope you will be able to join us there for this presentation.
We include as part of this letter information to facilitate your stay at the convention. The luncheon program will include other award recipients and a keynote speaker. Because of the length of the program we are asking award recipients to limit their acceptance comments to no more than 6 minutes. While we hate to impose such limits, doing so will ensure that all recipients receive time to make meaningful comments to the luncheon participants.
We look forward to seeing you at the Convention and joining with our public defender colleagues in celebrating your outstanding model program’s accomplishments.
