The National Association of Counties (NACo) has recognized our Children United Through Empowerment (C.U.T.E.) program with a 2020 Achievement Award!
Children United Through Empowerment (C.U.T.E.) was created to bring a voice to the pain, stigma, and protective factors that are necessary for the success of children coping with parental incarceration. This program is aimed at highlighting a child’s need for stability, safety, economic security and most importantly a sense of connectedness. The program is designed to strengthen the relationship between the child and caregiver by partaking in community events and activities created by the C.U.T.E. program. Additionally, the C.U.T.E. program strives to be a support system to both the child and caregiver by providing supportive interventions, mentorship, and linkages to community resources.
