This morning, May 7, 2021, San Bernardino County Public Defender Thomas Sone was invited to speak with the Greater High Desert Chamber of Commerce on “How the Public Defender’s Role Relates to the Business Community.” The event was held virtually.
Mr. Sone, who was formally appointed as Public Defender on April 20, highlighted the importance of community collaborations to the Public Defender’s holistic approach. Partnerships with a range of community-based organizations and county law and justice agencies ensure that the Public Defender’s Office most effectively helps clients achieve self-sufficiency and well-being. The Public Defender’s Office maintains an office in Victorville and collaborates with more than a dozen organizations in the Greater High Desert to secure mental health services, drug treatment, and housing services for our county’s indigent residents.
Thank you to the Greater High Desert Chamber of Commerce for this opportunity to discuss how we can work together to ensure the best outcomes for all community members!
