On May 1, 2015 at the CPDA (California Public Defender’s Association) convention on Friday evening, Oakland Marriott Civic Center, in Oakland, CA, the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office will receive the Program of the Year Award for REBAR—Removing Every Barrier and Rehabilitating.

REBAR encompasses our efforts in three areas:

  1. Re-Entry Assistance Program at Day Reporting Centers and other community re-entry events
  2. Community Outreach
  3. Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) team

We have achieved success in these areas because of each and every employee of the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office.  I commend you for your unwavering commitment, passion, and advocacy in rendering public service through criminal defense representation to the residents of San Bernardino County in a holistic manner.

The first is our award letter from CPDA and the second is the nomination application that was written by our awesome Chief Deputy Thomas Sone.
